What Are Concealors?

Alright, if your under eye area has been moisturized, and you're still thinking what can be done about those dark circles, then most likely, you should be using a concealor. Small areas, like (not so) dark circles or blemishes can be covered with a concealor. It's worth the trip to your favorite cosmetic counter to check out the different types and consistencies, focus on the color then find the consistency you like.

There are many different types offered by the different cosmetic companies, some concealors are thin, others are thick and either might be resistant to water. Today's concealors come in many different skin colors and several different types of application. The oldest and most popular kind of applicator is the lipstick type of tube. A modernized version is the fat little pencil with the creamy "lead", another type is a mascara type tube with a sponge wand or brush applicator, or you may like the soft bodied squeeze tube.

For those with pale discolorations, a thin concealor will be fine. However, those with darker under eye color will need a thicker product with more intense color (heavier pigment), which should be water resistant, for best results. Unfortunately, the average woman uses concealors that are too thin or too light for them. If your outcome is a lighter version of what you're trying to conceal, check the thickness or color of your product then take a second look at your how it's applied.

What do they do?

Concealors are used to do just that; conceal or cover up. They are like foundations but a concealor has more pigment (intense color); and is often thicker than a foundation, and a camouflager has more pigment and is thicker than a concealor. The extra pigment is why the product is thicker.

How do I use concealors?

Pick up a pearl size dot of concealor with a small brush, apply and lightly tap the concealor under and around the area. Tap and blend about an inch beyond the dark under eye, thinning as you go toward your nose, hairline and cheekbone. Finish with a thin application of liquid foundation or a very light dusting of powder.

The stick type of concealor should not be used from the tube, directly onto the skin. Its best applied by rubbing it on a finger, then dotting it onto the skin. The other types may also be applied with a finger; the applicator that comes with it, or with a brush. Personally, I apply concealor after all facial makeup except the finishing powder; this way if you have an under eye shadow or mascara smudge, you won't have to redo that area.

What is a camouflager?

A camouflager is a more color intensive version of a concealor. They are used for larger areas like covering shoulder or foot sun tan lines, birthmarks, varicose veins or for covering large, lighter or darker colored areas on the face or body. When properly applied and matched to your skin color, this product will make almost any discoloration disappear.

How do I use a camouflager?

There are two ways that you can use a camouflager under your eyes, you can use it alone as you would use a concealor or if you don't need the color density, it can be diluted with a little moisturizer or foundation. Thoroughly blend on the back of your hand and tap on the area and blend to erase any streaks or lines. For best finishing results, dust with a very small amount of flesh colored, or translucent loose powder.

Some makeup companies call their facial concealor a camouflager, don't be confused, they do that because theirs have more pigment (intense color) than the average concealor. You'll know if you need a typical concealor or a facial camouflager, take the time to sample both to see which type suits you best. Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?

My answer begins with the famous chicken or egg question, "what comes first the chicken or the egg"? Personally I pick for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion - I have no clue and I don't think many of us do either.

But one thing I am sure about and know for certain is that to find legitimate work at home jobs and business opportunities you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you intend to make money.

Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won't stumble.

Lean manufacturing is a generic process management philosophy derived mostly from the Toyota Production System (TPS) (hence the term Toyotism is also prevalent) and identified as "Lean" only in the 1990s[1]. It is renowned for its focus on reduction of the original Toyota seven wastes in order to improve overall customer value, but there are varying perspectives on how this is best achieved. The steady growth of Toyota, from a small company to the world's largest automaker,[2] has focused attention on how it has achieved this.

Lean manufacturing is a variation on the theme of efficiency; it is a present-day instance of the larger recurring theme in human life of increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and using empirical methods to decide what matters, rather than uncritically accepting pre-existing ideas of what matters. Thus it is a chapter in the larger narrative that also includes, for example, the folk wisdom of thrift, time and motion study, Taylorism, the Efficiency Movement, and Fordism. Lean manufacturing is often seen, with the benefit of hindsight, as a progression from, or a better attempt at the same goal of, earlier efficiency efforts"that is, picking up where earlier leaders like Taylor or Ford left off, and learning from their mistakes.

Lean Manufacturing focuses on two main points, reduction of through-put time and elimination of waste. Through-put can be described as the time it takes an order to be received until it is on the shipping dock. Elimination of waste can be seen in several different areas. The Seven Wastes are: 1) Motion; any wasted motion to pick up or stack, walk and/or lack of direction or access, 2) Over-production; labor needed to process more than is needed, 3) Transport; multiple locations for the same information and/or wasted effort to transport work, 4) Inventory; maintaining excess inventory of raw materials, work in process, and/or finished goods, along with outdated or obsolete information, 5) Processing; doing more work than is necessary, 6) Waiting; any non-work time, and 7) Defects; everything required to rework or repair form.

For the Steel Foundry and Investment Casting Divisions of Spokane Industries, lean manufacturing is the single most effective strategy that will allow us to improve our quality while reducing our overall costs. In this commitment to Lean, we initiated 6S, which is an acronym for: Safety, Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize and Sustain.

Beginning with 6S practices made sense for a number of reasons. It was obvious the old way of approaching business practices was outdated. Our production levels had plateaued and there was obvious waste all around us, but the culture of the employees was not such that change would happen on its own. There was a veteran work force that had been doing it the same way for years, and they werent about to change, because in their view it wasnt broken. 6S provided the visible change we needed to help jumpstart a revamped culture throughout the foundry.

We broke the foundry down into 10 sections and began implementing 6S. In each section we did an introduction class on 6S and Lean manufacturing, basically subscribing to a train-do model. Each member would actively participate in a kaizen event within a week of the class. In some cases we did the same section multiple times in order to achieve the desired results. At least one event was participated in by every foundry employee.

An additional step of our Lean journey was initiated with the understanding of Autonomous Maintenance. Autonomous maintenance is the initial standard in Total Productive Maintenance or TPM. TPM is a proactive approach that essentially looks to reduce catastrophic failures and inventory (spare parts) by preventative measures.

As we proceed, we will continue our 6S and autonomous maintenance efforts while we perform Value Stream Mapping (VSM) of our processes. VSM is the series of processes that directly create value for the external customer by efficiently streamlining our work flows. We will do this to identify safety concerns, waste, bottlenecks, and communication breakdowns.

Goodbye Norman Mailer

It was a Saturday morning when I found out that Normal Mailer had died at the age of 84. It was when I rummaged through my computer. I eventually turned it off, and decided not to open it up until the next morning. I consider Norman Mailer as my hero, and it's so sad that a lot of my heroes are gradually leaving us behind.

Norman and I didn't agree on many issues, but I think that still doesn't matter. He was one of those rare people who aren't afraid to write on what they want to write. He was fearless.

I spent the rest of the day trying to remember what Norman had done. I couldn't help but recall the 1948 book entitled The Naked and the Dead, which I have read around the year 1969, when I was 16.

I enjoyed reading his first book that I even anticipated for his upcoming new publications. I believe I have read every one of them. Whenever he would appear on television, I would usually sit back and watch him on TV. He was a very interesting person indeed, and that makes him rather different among other writers, and personalities on TV.

It was on Charlie Rose when I last saw him. There was also another show wherein he appeared, but then, I couldn't remember what was it called. As for Norman Mailer by that time, he had hard hearing, but was amazingly full of high spirits. It's rather disappointing that the shows didn't spare him too much time to appear on air.

Perhaps his politics are the last thing I liked about him, but I have forgiven him years ago. There was a big gap between Norman and many other liberals, and that is because he strongly believed in the things that are worth defending. He believed his own ideas.

There were also instances when Mailer was savaged by the New York publications and critics. But he didn't care two hoots in hell. They just kept writing and speaking against him.

The Castle in the Forest was the last book Norman Mailer published, although he had plans on working on a trilogy about Hitler.

I could still remember the moment when Norman was about to appear in Charlie Rose. I admit that I was really excited to see him again.

The very day he died it was when I felt a heavy disappointment. There would be no trilogy, another hero long gone.

But on Sunday I felt better. Norman Mailer would have defended your right to protect yourself. He knew where all the weasels in his chosen party were. I doubt he had any respect for them, because he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that they had no courage at all, that they were, and are paper tigers.

He knew because he had the guts to put himself on the line all the time, whenever he was writing or speaking.

He was a real man, and there are precious few of those around.

I think I could imagine how heaven is doing right now, with Norman Mailer around.

Somebody has to keep God on his toes, and I think Norman is up to the job. - 17943
